Zinc oxide has a wide range of uses. It is mainly used in rubber, plastics, paint, petrochemical, glass, ceramics, pigments, batteries, cement, medicine and feed industries. It is also used in photography and electrostatic compounding spacecraft coatings, making fireworks and smoke bombs, Even cigarette filters and other aspects.


(1) Rubber industry: In the process of rubber vulcanization of lead-zinc mine equipment, zinc oxide can improve the physical properties of vulcanized rubber, enhance the activity of accelerators, shorten the vulcanization time, and improve rubber wear resistance and tensile mechanical properties. Secondly, it can be used as a reinforcing agent and coloring agent for rubber. It can also be used as a vulcanizing agent for neoprene and a compounding agent for increasing thermal conductivity.

(2) Paint and coating industry: mainly use its tinting power, hiding power, anti-corrosion, luminescence and other functions. It is often used to produce white paint and enamel. Zinc oxide is slightly alkaline and can react with trace free fatty acids to generate zinc soap, making the paint film flexible and firm, and preventing metal oxidation.

(3) In the printing and dyeing industry, zinc oxide is used as an anti-dyeing agent; in the chemical industry, zinc oxide is used as a catalyst. In addition, it is also used as a raw material for the production of opalescent glass, zinc-white oil and watercolor paints, as well as cosmetics and various zinc salts.

compound is used as an antiseptic, an astringent and a topical protectant.
Zinc oxide is added to paints as a pigment and mold inhibitor and is known as zinc white when it is used as an oil paint by
artists. It is used for cosmetics (ointment to protect nose and lips from ultraviolet sunlight), as a seed treatment, and as a
dietary supplement.Zinc oxide, ZnO, is a reactive white pigment prepared by vaporizing metallic zinc at a temperature of about
900°C in the presence of oxygen. As a pigment, ZnO is basic in nature and can react with certain types of acidic paint resins
resulting in the formation of a brittle film on drying. Formation of such films leads to premature failure of paint.
